Hinchy Set For Loan Deal?

Last updated : 29 October 2006 By Stuart Gillespie
Hinchcliffe is currently third choice at Love Street behind Tony Bullock and Chris Smith. He hasn't featured for the first team since injuring himself in the warm up for a game against Brechin City in August 2005. However, he has featured in a few reserve games this season and now appears to be fit again. A loan move could allow him to gain even more match fitness.

The Doonhamers are needing a new goalkeeper with current number one Colin Scott struggling for fitness, although he played yesterday. One possible stumbling block could be that a move to Palmerston would prevent Hinchcliffe from carrying out his goalkeeper coaching duties at Love Street.

Saints already have three players out on loan; Brian McGinty is at Dundee, Marc McAusland is at Stranraer and John Baird is at Stenhousemuir.

UPDATE: It seems that Saints boss Gus MacPherson said at today's AGM that Hinchcliffe is going nowhere. After last season, the club are not prepared to go with just two goalkeepers and the source of the story is a mystery.
