Heath Trial Now Unlikely

Last updated : 11 July 2005 By Stuart Gillespie
This time last week it looked like Heath wasn't coming at all. The Halstead Town player posted on a Saints website claiming that work was preventing him beginning pre-season training at the same time as everyone else and he'd been told by the club he couldn't come up a week later.

That quickly changed and he was expected to start his trial today, however over the weekend he has picked up an ankle injury that has further delayed his arrival at all. MacPherson feels it is now extremely unlikely that the player will be on trial at any point of the pre-season period.

This is a shame as Saints need a goal scoring midfielder and Heath certainly is one of those. 38 goals in a season at any level is impressive and it's a pity we didn't get a chance to see if he was good enough for Saints.
