Harvey given his chance

The 20-year-old centre half spent a short period on loan at Brechin City last season and has also been a regular for Rangers' under-19s in recent years, as well as featuring for their reserve team. He had injury problems last season and was one of a number of players let go at the end of the campaign.

Harvey had been linked with a move to Queen of the South but it failed to materialise, so he registered for the Daily Record's campaign that aims to help players find new clubs. This isn't necessarily a bad thing - it was a similar scheme by the Scottish Sun that saw us sign David van Zanten six years ago.

We desperately need another couple of defenders and it'll be interesting to see how Harvey gets on tonight. He was quite good in Football Manager so hopefully he can replicate that form for us!

There are also reports that former Celtic youngster Joe Bradley is on trial with us. Bradley was signed by Saints during last season and played for the under-19s, but has recently featured as a trialist in friendly matches. However, it seems this is merely to do with the type of contract he is on and he's already our player - but will be in the under-19s rather than the first team.
