Hammy and Haining on the move

Neither player was offered a new deal at the end of last season, leaving them scrambling about for new clubs. Hamilton was linked with a number of new sides before joining Partick Thistle yesterday - the 11th club of his career! While he had some good games for Saints over the 18 months he was with the club, the first division is probably his level now. If he gets himself fully fit and interested he could do a decent job at Firhill.

Haining was linked with a return to Oldham a few months ago so it's no surprise to see him end up there - although it's a bit of a shock that he's only on trial. I didn't think he'd have had any problem getting a new club so to only be in for training - and with his former side - is a bit unexpected. Fingers crossed he gets himself sorted out with a deal soon.

The only other ex-Saint who is in the move at present is youngster Ben Carson, who is training with Dunfermline. There hasn't even been a rumour about Gary Mason, Ryan McCay or Tonet (not that anyone really cares about the last named player).
