Goodwin stays a Saint

Goodwin's contract was due to expire in the summer but he said on Saturday he was quite happy to stay with the Buddies a good while longer. Hibs had made no secret of their interest and met with Goodwin yesterday, with internet rumours suggesting he had agreed to join them in the summer and could even leave this month. However, that was all put to bed today when it was revealed he's agreed to stay until 2014.

Goodwin arrived from Hamilton last January and, after being made captain over the summer, has been in superb form this season. His passing, tackling and reading of the game have been second to none ad he has chipped in with a few long range goals. He's missed the last few games due to suspension and injury with the latter looking likely to keep him out of Saturday's trip to Inverness - a small price to pay considering he'll be a Buddie for the next two and a half years.
