Executive Passes Planning Applications (Possibly)

Last updated : 15 August 2005 By Stuart Gillespie
If these rumours are true then this is excellent news. It has taken the Executive nearly three months to do this, and they have twice asked for extensions to the initial twenty eight day deadline.

Saints have applied for planning applications for a supermarket to be built on Love Street and a new ground built on Greenhill Road. The move is needed as it is the only way to clear the club's debts of around £2million.

Planning permission was granted by Renfrewshire Council at the end of May, much to the relief of most Saints fans. Howeve,r the decision had to be referred due to the Scottish exectuvie as it went against the local area plan.

Today on Black and White Army someone claims that the Executive has passed the applications, and the reaction of one of the club's directors who posts there would suggest that this is indeed the case.

Mirren Mad will of course update you as soon as the news is made official, if indeed there is news to be made official!
