Dutch duo depart

Last updated : 17 May 2012 By Stuart Gillespie

The Dutch pair had become fans favourites since arriving at the club last summer - Hasselbaink for his bustling style up front and Tesselaar for his good work from the left fullback position - and had been offered new deals some time ago. These were rejected so improved offers were made, but these - believed to much better than the deals they signed last summer - were still not good enough so the pair have both left the club.

It's a real blow as Hasselbaink brought genuine pace to the side and was unstoppable on his day while Tesselaar filled the previously problematic leftback position. It's the third summer running Danny Lennon finds himself looking for a new left back following Jure Travner's departure this time last year.

The Dutch pair could still find themselves playing in the SPL next season - Kilmarnock have joined Aberdeen in the race for Hasselbaink with Tesselaar attracting interest from Dundee United.
