Duo loaned to Montrose

It's probably more important for Crighton to get this than McCay. The young defender is one of the stars of our under-19 side and looks like being an important player in the future. He won a "rising star" award last season and can only benefit from this loan spell.

McCay will almost certainly leave the club in the summer. He isn't really a youngster any more and has only made the odd appearance for the first team in the last few years. Most people were surprised he was given a new deal last summer, backed up by the fact he's yet to play for the first team. He was loaned to Stirling Albion last season and was apparently poor, so it's no surprise he has been loaned out again.

The length of the loan deal has not officially been announced, but it's likely to be for a couple of months at least. There are also rumours that young striker Sean Burns could be loaned to third division title challengers Stenhousemuir, managed by former Saints boss John Coughlin.
