I can't think of the last time we went a summer without playing the Sons. I was at a friendly against them back in 2005 and I'm fairly sure we've played them every year since, and maybe a few before that as well. However, this is the first time they've been in the first division after they won promotion last year so they should pose a tough test.
The game will be played at Dumbarton on Tuesday, July 24. Other friendlies already announced include the Renfrewshire Cup final at Morton and trips to English sides Carlisle United and Accrington Stanley.
Far more important games will be announced tomorrow with the fixture list being unveiled in the morning. News of that will be on the site in the evening.
