Dow Set To Leave

The story about Andy Dow appears in todays Sunday Mail. Dow signed at the start of the season after being sacked by Motherwell last season. Apparently he was sacked as they were in administration and needed to cut the wage bill, however I think the fact he's rubbish also has a factor in this. Sadly, Dow has been rubbish for Saints. He played through an injury at the start of the season, and was poor. After recovering, he said stuff along the lines of he was fully fit and we'd now see why we signed him. We're still waiting, as in the games he has played since he announced his fitness he has been awful. Recently he decided he'd rather moan to the papers about how Motherwell chairman John Boyle shafted him, and moaning about the level he had fallen to. Cheers Andy. Amazingly, as well as playing for Motherwell, Aberdeen and Hibs, Dow has also played for Chelsea! Yes, thats the same Chelsea who Man Utd beat yesterday! Even more amazingly, another club want to sign him! Dow said: "I had a meeting on Friday with the club and discussions to pay up my contract are well advanced. It's been a disappointing season and I felt it best for everyone involved to move sooner than later as I'm keen to get my career back on track." Apparently Raith Rovers are interested in signing him by the end of the week.

Rumours on Black And White Army suggest that Saints are going to sign current Celtic player Stephane Bonnes. He was seen at the game yesterday, is French and is supposedly a mate of Saints goalkeeper Ludo Roy. Bonnes can play up front or in midfield, and has yet to appear for the Celtic first team derspite being there a few years. He has been playing well as a striker in their under 21 team, so it could be a good signing if it comes off.

As well as the Dow story, the Sunday Mail also reports that former Saints striker/midfielder/whatever Jose Quitongo is set to sign for first division club Queen of the South. Quitongo was released by Saints at the end of last season, and after amove to Spain fell through, was signed up for a few months by Kilmarnock. The fact he is a former Hearts player helped, as Jim Jeffries can't get enough of them at the moment. However, they released him a few days ago, and as the Doonhammers tried signing him from us last season, it seems likely he'll sign for them this time. odds on him scoring against us?

Finally, Mark Dempsie. I know the deal hasn't gone through yet. I really shouldn't have put it on the site. Afterall, it was Chic Young who said he'd be signing, and he once said Eoin Jess would sign for Rangers inside 48 hours! However, by the end of the week I reckon the Dempsie deal will be completed.
