Dow Leaves, Yardley Set To Follow

Andy Dow was signed by Tom Hendrie over the summer and was awful. he as supposedly injured at first, but after claiming several times "Saints fans will now see why I was signed" he was still awful, and had no excuses. His attitude stunk more than your average Morton fan, if that is possible. He has hardly featured since John Coughlin was made boss and is now gone, thank god. Good riddance to bad rubbish, a total waste of a wage.

There have been rumours over the last week or so that Mark Yardley will be leaving the club for Albion Rovers. Whilst this deal won't be going any further, it appears that Yards has asked for all the other Scottish clubs to be faxed and told he is available. On last night's Offside, which he appeared on, he was asked about the Albion Rovers rumours. He responded by saying that talks were still in place and said "watch this space", so unfortunately the big man could well be on his way out.

Interestingly, also on Offside last night, it seems that Martin Cameron had to pay for the shirt he swapped with Joos Valgaeren, the players got no extra money yet our chairman is in Barbados. Hmmm.

With Dow gone, and Yards probably gone, it is almost certain there will be at least one new signing by the end of the week. With Martin Cameron injured for at least 3 weeks, we definitely need at least one new striker. It could be Davide Xausa, Gary Wales,or someone else. We currently have three guys on trial: someone from Dunfermline, an Aussie under 21 internationalist and a Faroe Isles unternational, one of whom is a striker. Whether they are any good or not will be seen this week.
