Defenders on the move

Naismith, who played for Scotland's under-20 side in their 0-0 draw with Manchester City yesterday, has gone on loan to Morton until the end of 2012. Danny Lennon had challenged him and Thomas Reilly to force their way into the Saints squad next season but obviously feels Naismith could do with some regular first team experience. Hopefully he'll get that over the next few months before returning to Paisley.

Kennedy spent last season on loan at Dumbarton but as he made just eight appearances for the second division side, who won promotion last week, it's not too surprising he has been let go.

It'll be interesting to see if this means Lennon is now on the look out for another centre-half. I had wondered if Naismith would be used to provide cover for Darren McGregor, Marc McAusland and Lee Mair but it seems that won't be what happens.
