Craig chosen to replace Jenkins

Last updated : 24 July 2011 By Stuart Gillespie

Craig has plenty of experience as a coach, having held various jobs over the past quarter of a decade. As well as working for Hibs and Celtic, he has also been assistant at Aberdeen, a coach at Newcastle and in charge of Scotland's under-21 side.

The former Aberdeen and Newcastle player will take on the role of first team coach rather than assistant manager, which is what Jenkins was. Rumours of Craig's appointment emerged within a couple of days of Lennon's assistant departing, making the manager's comments about taking his time, not sure what he was doing etc seem rather odd.
