Connolly Set For Saints?

Last updated : 04 December 2003 By Stuart Gillespie
According to an article on the BBC website, Connolly has applied for both the Saints and Partick Thistle jobs. Connolly revealed in The Sun on Monday that he is from Barrhead and supported Rangers and Saints as a boy, and that he would like to move into full time management. Connolly is one of the names Saints fans, including myself, would like to see come to Love Street and if he has applied for the job then he obviously wants to come as well.

The BBC article is a bit vague, as it mentions that Gardner Speirs, John McGregor and Dick Campbell have all applied, whilst Billy Davies and John McCormack have been linked with the job. This comes just after the bit where it says Connolly has applied for the Partick and Saints jobs, so whether these other managers have applied for both, or just the Saints, or just the Thistle job, is unknown. Of that lot I'd take McCormack or Connolly.
