Chairman Asks Fans to Change Their Tune

Last updated : 08 August 2006 By Stuart Gillespie
The statement comes after much discussion on the net about one song in particular, which could be deemed to be offensive to both halves of the Old Firm religious divide. The song in question contains the lyrics "We hate the boys in royal blue, we hate the boys in emerald green." Nothing wrong with that you may think, but it gets worse after that and takes on a bigoted/sectarian nature.

Many fans have tried to claim that the song is showing their hatred of bigotry and sectarianism, but I completely disagree. Besides, there are plenty of decent songs that are more about Saints and are nowhere near dodgy ground.

Let's start singing these other songs on Saturday, including "We're top of the league and you're no" and "Where in Ireland is Glasgow?".
