Cameron To Boston?

Last updated : 11 August 2002 By Stuart Gillespie
Cameron bagged four in the midweek win against East Stirlingshire, and today's Sunday Mail reports that Nationwide League newboys Boston United, who started on -4 points due to financial irregularities, are interested in him. Boston are no strangers to playing former Saints players, having taken former Saint Steven McGarry on loan last season, and have also had Jim Dick in the past, who is reportedly now in trouble as he claimed unemployment benefit whilst playing for Boston! I would treat this story with a very large mountain of salt, especially as Tom Hendrie has raved about Martin Cameron at any chance. The lads on The Official Site forum are also extremely dubious of the story, and unless Boston are offering a 6 figure sum it remains a column filler.

The John Hillcoat story, also in the Sunday Mail, is much more believable. Hillcoat was released by Saints at the end of last season and will tomorrow hold talks with both Stranrer and Ayr United. Should he sign for Ayr he'll probably play a blinder against us and will also link up with former Buddie Iain Nicolson
