Broadfoot: I'd Have Been Flattered

Last updated : 05 June 2005 By Stuart Gillespie

Broadfoot said: "The club would have tried to get rid of a few young players if the stadium situation hadn't been resolved. There was talk of us sharing with Partick which would have cost money the club didn't have.

"They might have tried to offload the likes of Simon Lappin just to get a few bucks in to try and save us, and I may well have been one they'd have tried to sell because at 20 I'm still a young player. On top of that I've two years of my contract left.

"However, if they did that it would be a compliment because you're obviously worth something and they think others would be interested."

The comments were made in an interview with the Sunday Mail in which Broadfoot also said he may have to consider his future if Saints don't get promoted in the next few years.
