After starting at home against Dundee United last season we were probably due an away game this time around. It's a wee bit frustrating that we start at Dunfermline on flag day as the newly promoted team is usually a wee bit more fired up than usual, but apart from that I've no complaints. The following weekend we play Aberdeen before we head to Tannadice.
For once, we are spared a ridiculous trip up north over the Christmas period - we host Rangers on Christmas Eve, Dundee United during the week and go to Kilmarnock on Monday, January 2. My only complaint is we're away to Rangers on the last game before the split. In our previous SPL seasons we've only been at home the last day before the split once - back in 2007.
