Martins scored a couple of goals in a friendly against Partick Thistle during the week but Saints boss Danny Lennon wanted longer to look at him. However, Martins wanted a contract offer instead and so has now left.
Fellow trialist Michael McGowan is willing to stay and Lennon and co will have another look at the former Queen of the South man next week.
