Annand Joins Raith

Annand only played a few games at the start of last season for Saints before moving to Dumbarton, claiming that at his age he needed to be playing first team football reguarly. Fair enough, except he'd only been out of the team for a few weeks before his departure!

Annand has been at many clubs during his career, including Dundee, Ayr and Morton and has scored goals for everyone he has played for. In the summer of 2003 he found himself without a club so Saints offered him a trial. He scored against Gretna before breaking his foot but Saints gave him a two year deal anyway. He recovered from injury and played for a few weeks before breaking his foot again! This put him out until the start of April and he understandably looked short of fitness.

He was in the starting lineup for the first few games of the following season but failed to do anything constructive, other than miss a sitter against Morton in the Renfrewshire Cup final, and was dropped. This wasn't good enough for such a superstar and he moved to Dumbarton.

Annand is getting on a bit now but this doesn't seem to be a problem for Raith, who have also re-signed the ancient Scott Crabbe for another year.
