And we're back

Unsurprisingly, not a great deal has been going on due to the international break, with the Scotland first team as useless as ever. However, a few of our players have been in action with other squads.

Thomas Reilly made a number of appearances for Scotland's under-19s, appearing as a sub in a 4-0 win over Armenia and a 1-0 win against Romania. He also started against Switzerland but failed to score, although the young Scots won 4-3 to make it through to the next stage of the qualification process. Unfortunately, the young striker picked up an injury and is unlikely to feature for Saints against Celtic this weekend.

Kenny McLean also played for Scotland while we were away, making his first under-21 start when they lost 2-0 to America and making a sub appearance when Canada were defeated 2-0. Jordan Holt made a couple of starts for the Welsh under-19s and young 17-year-old defender has been called up for a Scotland under-18 training camp later this month.

Sticking with age group sides, Saints under-20s had a couple of games. The first saw them lose 5-2 to Dundee United, with Jon Sculion and Jack Smith scoring. The other match ended in a 2-2 draw with Aberdeen, Scullion and Kieran Doran scoring as the Buddies grabbed a draw after being a couple of goals down.

Finally, Jamie McKernon has joined East Stirling on loan for three months. The midfielder spent last season on loan at Ayr United and links up with Saints team mate Sean Kelly, who is also on loan at the third division side.
