Adam on trial

Last updated : 29 June 2012 By Stuart Gillespie

Adam - brother of former Rangers and Saints midfielder Charlie - has left the Ibrox club after his contract expired at the end of last season. He didn't play for Rangers during his time there but had two spells on loan - one at Forfar (where he didn't play) and one at Airdrie last season. He has also represented Scotland at various youth levels.

Saints are in need of another goalie following the departures of Graeme Smith, Michael McKinven and Adam McHugh, so it doesn't hurt to have a look at Adam. However, it's strange that we're bringing folk in on trial when Saints chairman Stewart Gilmour says there will be no new signings until the Rangers and Sky situations are resolved.

One downside of signing Adam is this rather unsavoury incident from his recent past: http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/2012/05/05/rangers-goalkeeper-grant-adam-fined-500-for-sectarian-song-86908-23848978/
