Aberdeen line up Hasselbaink move

It emerged yesterday that the striker - who scored eight times in the season just finished - admitted he would probably be leaving the club after finding various contract offers not to his liking. That put clubs on alert - if they weren't already - and a number of BBC journalists have revealed on Twitter this afternoon that Hasselbaink is on a long list of potential Aberdeen signings.

It's perhaps no surprise Craig Brown wants to take Nigel to Pittodrie as he scored twice against the Dons last season. They could do with a bit of pace and liveliness in their side and Hasselbaink could be the ideal man to partner Scott Vernon up front.

Hasselbaink's countryman Jeroen Tesselaar is also out of contract in the summer. The pair have the same agent and Tesselaar has also yet to agree a new deal but tweeted this afternoon he hopes to see everyone again next season.
