Falkirk v Saints Preview

Last updated : 12 December 2003 By Stuart Gillespie
Falkirk fans can complain about being called moany and stadiumless all they want but it's true. They don't have a stadium at present, hence they use Stenhousemuir's Ochilview for their home matches. They moan about everything, from not being allowed into the SPL to transfer rule changes. Ironically the last one forced John Hughes to say it was unfair to change the rules mid season! Eejits holds as well because Falkirk fans clearly are.

Last time we played Falkirk, their most famous player was missing. However he's back, and scoring goals. Nope, not Dwight Yorke's best mate Russell Latapy, but Jason Lee. The man who brought entertainment to the masses thanks to his pineapple and Fantasy Football has been doing what he does worst, scoring goals. Not good news, but hopefully some more misses will be coming tomorrow.

Saints fans were no doubt delighted to see the back of the dump that was Brockville last season, having not won there since Falkirk first revealed plans to sell the place and move grounds. Falkirk's "home" record since moving into Stenny's ground has been abysmal, and it will hopefully continue tomorow.

Saints still have Kevin Twaddle, Eddie Annand Paul, McKnight David Jack and Graham McWilliam missing. Caretaker boss Gus MacPherson, going for three from three tomorrow, isn't fit but has returned to training. Mark Dempsie will play despite picking up a knock last week, whilst John O'Neill, Mark Crilly and Kirk Broadfoot are all suspended. With the exception of Broadfoot, it will no doubt be the same team as last week.

Can Saints break the jinx? Under Gus, anything is possible :-)
