SPL, Yer Having A Laugh

The SPL has confirmed what we already knew, that it is a total joke. They can't even do a simple vote correctly. The sooner it dies off, the better.

Apparently two votes were held, with Caley Thistle winning the first one and losing the second one. Why a second vote was held is a mystery, though apparently the fool from Dundee didn't know what he voted on.

Caley Thistle needed eight votes to get promoted, but only got seven. There was critiscism from some of the clubs who voted in their favour, and it then appeared that eight clubs had stated publicly that they had voted for Caley. So why only seven votes? God only knows.

Hearts and Hibs demanded another vote, and some SPL rule says that if two or more clubs protest an issue it can be looked at again. Great, they just vote on it until they get the result they want! And whats to stop Partick getting another team to complain with them to have another vote, and another, and another. 22nd June is the date of the new vote.

Partick then made the very generous offer of being relegated to the first division, and even letting Caley Thistle play at their own ground. How nice. Except they wanted £1million as "compensation" for building a new stand. Ah. The only thing to say here is that if they were charged that for their new stand, they were well and truley robbed!

Caley's ground doesn't even meet the 6,000 seats requirement. It might have that many, but not all of them are covered. Unsurprisingly they told Partick where to shove their £1million demand.

It now seems that Caley Thistle will stroll the revote, The Sun claiming the only dissentors to it will be Partick. Quite why the other four sides have decided to change their mind I don't know. Admittedly Livingston are under new ownership, but what are the excuses of the other three sides?

The best piece of SPL stupidity came today, when the Daily Record claimed that, according to the rules, Caley Thistle had to have their plans to groundshare in by March 31st. Therefore, why did the SPL have the vote? In fact, why did the SPL tell Caley they could sort a deal out if it didn't matter? Could it be that the SPL don't know their own rules? Surely not!

SPL, you are indeed having a laugh.
