And Now He Says It's Over

Berti Vogts. Played loads, won few, lost many. That's his fantastic record as Scotland manager. Why it has taken so long for him to leave is a mystery. His record is abysmal, from that first defeat against France, the embarrassments in the Faroes and Lithuania to that terrible, terrible draw in Moldova. It's not his fault though, oh no.

I went on at length the last time about various claims Vogts has made, such as not having the players (despite us beating Holland and drawing with Germany) and similar nonsense. I won't go into them again here, if you want to read my last brilliance then click the link somewhere at the bottom.

Vogts seems to have come up with two more excuses for his failure. He's had a go at the media, claiming that the abuse he has received from the tabloids is out of order and that the people in them know little about football (more than you do Berti) and other nonsense, and that they effectively drove him out.

Silly, silly Berti, you should not have said that! Whether they forced you out or not, you should have kept your mouth shut. You clearly do not know how the tabloid newspapers work in this country. Yesterday's front pages were predictable, with them claiming that they had driven Vogts out. I seriously doubt that they had much say in the matter, though they played a part. That Vogts was stupid enough to blame them was typical of the buffoon that he is, as it delighted most tabloid journalists.

Apart from having a dig at the tabloids, Berti also had a go at the fans. Now, the fans that spat on him are pathetic and should be banned from future Scotland games (or forced to watch every Berti Vogts Scotland game again and again). However, was it really their fault you got sacked? Are we so stupid that we need the tabloid newspapers to tell us what to do? Don't be stupid Berti.

Notice anything with who he is blaming? That's right, he hasn't blamed himself once. Not in his time as Scotland manager, or the past few days, has he once taken responsibility for the mess he has dragged us into. But is that a surprise? Not really, especially when you consider that he has slated his own players yet moaned at the press for doing so!

Apparently Vogts still gets his pay off. So why has he resigned now? Why not wait and get the boot on Thursday? It really wouldn't have made that much difference to us.

I won't bother ranting about David Taylor or possible candidates this time; I did so in my last article. Let's just hope that Taylor and his fellow blazers choose the right man, or we're all doomed.
