Name: Steven Thomson

Date of birth: 23/1/1978

Position: Midfielder

Former clubs: Crystal Palace, Peterbrough, Falkirk, Brighton

Joined: January 2009

Contracted to: Summer 2012

Despite being a Scot, Steven didn't play in his home country until he joined Falkirk in 2005. By then he'd already played for Crystal Palace - being involved in their epic League Cup semi-final against Liverpool - and Peterbrough. He spent two and a half years at Falkirk, scoring a screamer against us at Love Street. He then went back down south by signing for Brighton for family reasons - only to sign for us a year later for family reasons! Got off to a slow start, partly because he was being played out of position, but scored his first goal against Motherwell in April 2009 - our first win of the year. He's chipped chipped in with a few more since, including a few screamers against Inverness Caley Thistle. Many people think he's a defensive midfielder, but he is more of a box to box man as he's capable of making tackles before getting forward to take shots. Started off the season in good form but seemed to drop away and has fallen out of favour, although still capable of doing a job of required. Things are a wee bit confusing as he's not the only Steven Thomson we have at the club this season!
