Name: Aaron Mooy
Date of birth: 15/9/1990
Position: Midfielder
Former clubs: Bolton
Signed: October 2010
Contracted to: Summer 2013
There was excitement when Aaron joined Saints in 2010 after a successful trial spell. The talented Aussie had been highly rated at Bolton but left because he wanted first team football. However, he found it hard to come by in his first season at Saints - often getting just a few minutes as a sub at the end of games. His treatment by Danny Lennon was bizarre and he usually spent most of the games on the exercise bikes used by the subs! Started against Peterhead in the Scottish Cup and scored, but it wasn't until a few months before the end of the season he managed to get a run in the team and put in some good performances. Injury problems over the summer meant it wasn't until near the end of 2011 that he made his first appearance of the season but he scored a fantastic equaliser against Rangers on Christmas Eve. He is highly rated by the Aussies and has been capped at pretty much every level bar the top one, although has been in a full squad. He can take a mean free-kick and could represent his country in the London Olympics.
