More Signings To Come?

With Ian Ross leaving yesterday for Partick Thistle, this freed two spaces on the wage bill as he was still on SPL wages. Also, Ryan Robinson has now left, plus there may be some money for transfers from the Celtic cup tie next week. As well as this, Sergei Baltacha was supposedly still being paid despite leaving in September, so thats at least four spaces on the wage bill. Mitchell has obviously taken up one of the four spaces, but who will take up the other three?

Dempsie is obviously in the frame as he's starting as a trialist today, whilst former Ayr United right back Craig Stevenson, and former Everton midfielder Craig Penman, have been in training for a week or so. However, The Official Site reports that Saints boss John Coughlin is in talks with some previously unnamed players. Who might they be?

It is possible that we have renewed interest in right back Stephen McAnespie. McAnespie was on trial at the same time as Martin Baker, and whilst Baker was signed McAnespie was not as we couldn't afford it. We need a right back, so this rumour may have a small grain of truth in it.

Other possible signings could include Paddy Flannery, who Dumbarton want rid of, former Saint Stuart Taylor, who is returning to Scotland from Ireland, or even former Saints striker Alex Bone, who has been released by Ross County. There's also Hamilton striker Brian McPhee, who wants to leave as he hasn't been paid for months.

With a right back and a striker needed by Saints, it would be surprising if our transfer activities were over. It might be someone mentioned above, or it might not. Mirren Mad will bring you any transfer news when we get it, unless it takes place between Tuesday evening and Friday afternoon as I'm back at Uni during that period :-)
