Youngsters get the call

Two members of Saints' youth set-up have been handed call-ups to the Scotland under-17 squad. Thomas Reilly and Craig Slater are in the party for the upcoming games against Macedonia, Switzerland and Macedonia.

The under-19s fared better against Rangers than they did against Hearts last week, but they are still searching for their first points of the season after suffering another defeat.

Hearts 5-0 Under-19s

The under-19s began their new season in disappointing style this afternoon when a patched up side were put to the sword by Hearts at Riccarton.

Arthurlie 2-2 Under-19s

A strike from Jamie McKernon and a last minute own goal helped Saints' youngsters to a creditable draw against junior side Arthurlie this evening.

Third place for youngsters

Saints' under-19s finished third in the four team Jim Baird Memorial Trophy, which was held in the last few days. The youngsters were competing against amateur teams made up of players of all ages.

Conor called up

Young Saint Conor Lynass has been called up to the Scotland under-16 squad for a training camp and two friendly matches next month.

Youngsters called up

Two members of Saints under-17 team have been called up to the Scotland squad for the same age group. Craig Slater and Thomas Reilly will both travel with the party chosen for the Nordic Tournament, which starts at the end of next month.

Under-19s 1-0 Rangers

The under-19s season came to a close yesterday with a superb victory over Rangers. Jon McShane scored the only goal in the second half as the youngsters finished a fine fifth in the league.

St. Johnstone 1-0 Under-19s

Saints' youngsters final league game ended in defeat this afternoon when they lost to St. Johnstone thanks to a first half goal. The under-19s missed a number of decent chances, with the home keeper pulling off some good saves.

Under-19s 2-2 Aberdeen

The youngsters are obviously learning. Today the under-19s were just a few minutes away from beating Aberdeen but, as their senior counterparts have done repeatedly this season, they lost a crucial late goal.

Trio in Scotland squad

Three members of Saints youth system have been called up for a special Scotland under-15 squad training camp. Callum Thomson, Conor Lynass and Declan Hughes will be among the players training in Largs at the start of next week.

Dundee United 1-1 Under-19s

Saints' youngsters had to settle for a draw today after going in front and failing to take advantage of a number of chances that came their way. Sound familiar?

Under-19s 2-1 Falkirk

The Saints kids got back to winning ways this afternoon with a fine victory over Falkirk. Kyle Faulds struck both the goals, including an injury time winner.

Cup dream ended by Rangers

It was the turn of the under-19s to lose a cup game to Rangers today, a single goal at St. Mirren Park spelling the end of their participation in this year's SFA Youth Cup at the quarter-final stage.

Motherwell 3-0 Under-19s

After a good run of late that has been pretty much the opposite of the first team's form, the under-19s suffered a heavy defeat to Motherwell today. Perhaps the result will also signal a change in fortunes for their senior counterparts!

High five in Scotland squad

An impressive tally of five Saints youngsters have been named in the Scotland under-15 squad for a special training camp to take place in Largs at the end of the month.

Saints' youth side made it through to the semi-finals of this season's SFA Youth Cup last night with a 3-1 win over Airdrie United. As seems to be a requirement for us in cup competitions this season, we'll face Rangers in the next round.

The first team might not be able to buy a league win at the moment, but the same certainly can't be said for the under-19s, with Conor Ramsey's goal giving them victory against Hearts this afternoon.

Under-19s 4-0 Kilmarnock

The youngsters don't seem to be able to stop scoring or winning at the moment as they romped to victory against Kilmarnock this afternoon. Shame the first team can't do the same!

Hamilton Accies 1-2 Under-19s

Jon McShane and Mark Lamont scored to give Saints' kids an away win over Hamilton Accies this afternoon. Let's hope this is an omen for the game between the two clubs in the SPL tomorrow!

Falkirk 2-4 Under-19s

The first team may be struggling for goals at the moment but they same can't be said for the under-19s after they came from behind to rattle four past their Falkirk counterparts.

Airdrie for kids

Saints' youngsters will face Airdrie United in the quarter-finals of this season's SFA Youth Cup after the Diamonds thrashed fellow first division side Dundee yesterday.

Saints' under-19s will face either Aidrie United or Dundee in the quarter-finals of this season's SFA Youth Cup. The game will be played away from home on February 14 next year.

Youngsters march on

Saints' under-19s made it through to the last eight of the SFA Youth Cup yesterday with a convincing win over Ross County at St. Mirren Park. Jon McShane, Jamie McKernon and Kenny McLean got the goals.

Under-19s 3-2 Hibs

A last gasp goal gave Saints' kids all three points in a thrilling match against Hibs this afternoon. Bradley Coyne, normally a player with the under-17s, struck the decisive goal in stoppage time.
