Golf Champions Of Football

A host of football superstars will tee off at the "Golf Champions of Football" in Portugal this June in support of 'Keep Your Eye on the Ball', an initiative run by The FA.

Saints face fight to keep Ross

Jack Ross looks set to be offered a new contract by Saints to keep him at the club for at least another year - but the Buddies face competition for his services with both Hamilton and Motherwell rumoured to be interested in signing him.

Dorman makes Wales squad

Andy Dorman has been given the chance to win his first cap for Wales by being named in the national side's squad for next week's friendly against Sweden. The midfielder only became eligible to play for the Welsh after a change in rules last year.

Motherwell game moved - again!

The game between Saints and Motherwell which was due to go ahead at St. Mirren Park on Saturday, March 20 has been rescheduled once again. It will now go ahead on Tuesday, March 9.

New date for Accies game

In a rare bout of common sense, the SPL have decided our postponed game against Hamilton Accies will go ahead on Saturday, March 13. Although it is quarter-finals day in the Scottish Cup, both sides are available after being knocked out by Rangers.

Former Saints in Scotland squad

Two former St. Mirren players were named in Craig Levein's first Scotland Squad yesterday. Chris Iwelumo and Charlie Adam were both handed call-ups, while there was no place for current keeper Paul Gallacher.

Loy called up

On-loan striker Roy Loy has been called up to the Scotland under-21 squad for their upcoming game against Azerbaijan. Former Saints midfielder Stephen McGinn has also made the squad.

14,000 Saints head to Hampden

Mon 15 Feb
Saints have been given 14,000 tickets for next month's Co-operative Insurance Cup final against Rangers - with a few thousand more on offer if they are required. Tickets go on sale to season ticket holders on Thursday.

Released duo get fixed up

Mo Camara and Dennis Wyness have both found themselves new clubs today by signing for Torquay United and Dumbarton respectively. The pair were let go by Saints a fortnight ago after being told they were surplus to requirements.

Motherwell game moved

Next month's SPL game against Motherwell has been moved to Tuesday, March 16. The game was originally due to go ahead on Saturday, March 20 but was moved due to the small matter of the Co-operative Insurance Cup Final the following day.

Arabs await winners

Whoever wins next week's Scottish Cup replay betwee Saints and Rangers at Ibrox will face Dundee United in the next round. The Arabs booked their place in the quarter finals with a narrow win over St. Johnstone on Saturday.

Cup game on Sky

Saints are set to land another cash boost from cup competitions after Sky Sports chose to show next week's Scottish Cup replay against Rangers live on TV. The move should be worth over £90,000 to the club.

No more signings

There are unlikely to be any more new arrivals at St. Mirren Park before the transfer window shuts at midnight. Saints boss Gus MacPherson had been hoping to bring in Ryan Stevenson before Hearts made a bid for the Ayr United midfielder.

Quinn quits

Young striker Paul Quinn has been allowed to leave Saints by mutual consent. The forward failed to make a first team appearance during his time at the club, but scored twice while on loan to Queen's Park earlier this season.

Carey on signing

Celtic youngster Graham Carey became Saints' second signing of the transfer window this morning when he agreed to join on loan until the end of the season. And it seems we're not finished yet...

Dennis Wyness' Saints career came to an end last night after he agreed to terminate the remaining six months of his contract. The striker scored just four goals during his year and a half at the club.

Saints to battle for McAlister

St. Mirren and St. Johnstone are set to fight it out to the land the signature of Morton's Jim McAlister. The midfielder's contract is up in the summer and he has previously been on trial with Watford and Romanian side Unirea Urziceni.

Pair told to do one

Mo Camara and Dennis Wyness have both been told they are free to leave the club if they can find new employeers. Camara has made just one appearance for the first team this season while Wyness hasn't made any.

Hamilton game rearranged

Saints' run of midweek games is set to continue after the twice postponed game against Hamilton Accies was rearranged for Tuesday, February 16. If it goes ahead it will be the club's fifth midweek game in six weeks.
